Welcome Little LukeWednesday, July 08, 2015
Well I am delighted to finally be able to introduce to you all my latest me-made creation - little baby Luke! As I mentioned in the last post, he was far too comfortable in my belly and I had to go into hospital to be induced. Turns out that he really WAS too comfortable in there, as after a ridiculously long and painful labour I ended up having to have an emergency c-section to get the little guy out. I went into the hospital with the attitude to just 'go with the flow' and accept whatever path my labour ended up taking, so when the Dr suggested that we might need to go down the c-section route I was OK with that and trusted his decision. My husband at that point was pretty traumatised by the past however many hours of labour (maybe 20hrs?!) and leapt at the suggestion! lol.
Anyway, all that matters now is that we have a gorgeous little son (wow - still getting used to saying that) and we are totally besotted with him. I guess I may be pretty bias, but I can't get over how CUTE he is...even if he is keeping us up every night at the moment (3am is party time for him apparently...while 3pm is snoozing time! We need to find a way to introduce the difference between night and day to this wee man...any suggestions welcome!).
I'm still trying to figure out how to get anything done around the house apart from feeding him and changing his nappies, so there is currently not a lot of sewing being done around here. I'm really grateful that Robin is a teacher as it means he is now off for the Summer and able to help out - thank goodness!
Oh, and add to that, that we MAY have just bought a house! I'm a bit nervous to mention that though, as you guys will know the trouble we have had in that department in the past, but it's looking pretty good at the moment - and we need to start packing! The timing couldn't be worse, but it was too perfect a house to overlook. I'll share more once I am 100% sure that the house is ours (i.e. - when the keys are in my hand!).
I have a few posts planned for the next wee while, but with the arrival of Luke, and the prospect of a house move, I think things might be a little quite on the blog for a bit - but I'll be back to more regular posting once things settle down a bit. I'm dying to get back to sewing (for me especially, now that the baby bump has gone!)...so hopefully I'll have some new makes to share. Until then I will definitely be updating Instagram regularly so it would be great to see you guys over there in the mean time.
