Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day!

Monday, December 08, 2014

Hello, and if you are new here - welcome to my blog!

I thought I would join in the fun of the Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day, and I have a pretty tempting prize up for grabs:

I have put together a rather yummy By Hand Anna Dress kit!

But first I thought I'd give you a little bit of a glimpse into Sea Salt and Stitches to see what goes on around here. If you are already familiar to my blog, feel free to skip this and scroll down to enter the giveaway.

Sea Salt and Stitches is still in it's infancy as a blog, having only launched back in October of this year. Prior to that I had been blogging over at Su Sews So-So. On the blog I share my various sewing makes and tutorials, talk sewing and life, throw in the odd recipe and track my progress in trying to set up a life by the sea. It's sort of a seaside lifestyle blog, with a sewing twist!

Find out a bit more about me, and the blog here.

Left // Right

Or, maybe you might like to see some of my recent sewing adventures? I'm particularly proud of the dress I wore to my Wedding Reception last year (above left photo), as well as the very floral By Hand London Anna dress (below right photo) - a taster for what you could be making if you win the giveaway!

Left // Right

As I mentioned earlier, I also write the odd tutorial, and most recently shared a sewing tutorial showing you how to make a Christmas Apron (or an any time of the year apron really). I'm looking forward to wearing my apron on Christmas day!

Anyway, let's get onto the giveaway shall we?!

So, I have put together a dressmaking kit to make the By Hand London Anna Dress, and this giveaway is open Internationally. If you haven't seen this dress out in the wild, or have yet to make this up yourself, you are in for a treat! This has to be one of the most flattering dress patterns out there, and it's really quite easy to make as well - bonus!

The kit contains:

- The By Hand London Anna Dress Pattern
- 3m of gorgeous floral cotton lawn (the pattern says you need 4m for the maxi dress, but I managed to make mine out of 3m so hopefully this should be enough for you!)
- A matching invisible zip
- Matching thread (not shown)
- A hook and eye

Now, you may be thinking that the zip isn't a great match, and that's because it's not! I just included a zip for the photo, but I'll be going out and buying a more suitable zip for the fabric later - and I'll also pick up the matching thread as well.

And what do you have to do to get your hand on this kit?  Follow the instructions in the Rafflecoper widget below:

Good Luck everyone!

  11. I am making Christmas tree decorations for my parents, which is ridiculous since my mum just told me that they aren’t going to have a tree this year. Oh well. Other than that, I don’t really do Christmas gifts, but I make my own Christmas cards every year, and this year, they are probably going to be quilted coasters rather than traditional cards.
