A Little Announcement!

So I have some exciting news to share today - we are having a baby! Robin and I are over the moon and it's so fantastic to finally be able to share the news with all our friends and family. I am 13 weeks today and have to say that I have been very lucky with the typical first trimester symptoms, or should I say lack of symptoms, because I thankfully haven't suffered from any morning sickness.

The little one is currently due on the 10th June (but we all know that will more than likely change!), which is really great timing for us as it means that Robin will be off for two months in the summer to help out (he's a teacher)! We are hoping that we will be able to move into our new house (still not ours yet!) ASAP now as there are renovations we would ideally like to get done before the baby arrives - so the pressure is definitely on!

I've only just started to show (so exciting!) but I am realising that my typical work 'uniform' of a pencil skirt is not going to work for much longer, so I have been enjoying researching maternity styles and patterns and I have a few plans for maternity sewing which I'm excited to share with you soon.

    1. Thanks Sue! That's what I was thinking too! I've bought Megan Nielsen's ruched maternity skirt pattern and I've ordered some jersey so I think that might be my first make!

  6. I just made Simplicity 1360 (a knit maternity dress) and it is great!!!! Definitely pick that one up on sale! There are also great tutorials for turning pants into maternity pants with a giant knit band. Super easy and cheap and you could do it to any pants you own, thrift store pants (my next step) or cheap-o a few sizes up pants (my 1st attempt).

    Congrats!!

  8. Glad that I found your blog. I was struggling with my "New" serger and finally googled my problem - there you were, a couple years ago. I was given this Christmas present last year but got frustrated when I tried to change tension. So I promised my husband that I would give it a try again today. Got it going again after 2 1/2 hours.I think that I will use up ALL the current thread and sew something really simple before I change the tension again.Congratulations on the baby!
