Hello and welcome to my brand spanking new blog!

You have probably come here through the link on my old blog Su Sews So So, if so, thank you for coming along and checking out my new blog. If you have happened upon this page from some other place - welcome! Either way, I hope you stick around a while and see what's going on.

So what's this blog all about, and why have I bothered to make a new one?

Well, as I mentioned before, I used to blog at Su Sews So So. That blog was my little place to come and share my sewing makes and I love/loved it so. I started that blog back in 2010, but recently my life has started to change - I got married last year, my husband and I are working on moving into our first home together and hopefully there may be a baby (or two) in the future. Because of these changes I have also found my attention divided - not every moment of my waking life was spent planning my next sewing make (hard to imagine, I know!) and therefore I wasn't able to blog as much as I would like, considering my blog was solely a sewing blog.

I love reading sewing blogs, and the majority of my blog reader is filled with them, but I also love reading lifestyle blogs, fashion blogs, interior decorating blogs and general craft blogs. And I am sure that is the same for a lot of readers. If so, I hope you will enjoy the change and diversity that I'm planning.

And what else, other than sewing will I be blogging about?

1 // 2 // 3 // 4

Well as I mentioned, my husband and I are trying to move house. We are both sea/water lovers and just feel instantly calm and 'at home' by the water, so it seems only natural that we should try and find a home by the sea. The journey has been long - and we don't even have a house yet! We don't have a huge budget, but are willing to get our hands dirty so whenever we do find our new home I imagine there will be a fair amount of DIY happening! Anyway, I hope to be able to share our journey with you - with the hopes that it might help others, and in turn maybe we will get help from you! I'll be blogging about our journey so far in my next post so I hope you come back to check that out.

However, my first and foremost passion is sewing, and I think it always will be. So don't worry if you think I won't be sharing my sewing escapades as much as I was before - I will! The truth of the matter is that I have never been one of these super speedy stitchers who is able to blog a new make every week (major respect if that is you!), so in all honestly I expect the same amount of sewing will still be blogged! It's just that I hope to now be able to blog a wee bit more, with a little bit more variety. It may not all interest you, and if so, that's fine! Just skip it and come back for the sewing the next time!

So I hope you like the new digs, I made them myself! Feel free to have a nosy around. I've archived all of my old makes from Su Sews So So under the very cleverly named tab 'Made By Me' at the top there, which has been divided into categories such as dresses, skirts, tops etc. To the right I have a few links to some of my most popular posts - which obviously currently link to Su Sews So So. Hopefully over time you will see these change and update as I get more content on here. It's early days for now though.

How about a giveaway?!

Anyway, if you have made it to the end of this post - well done, I think you deserve a prize! Oh, and as it would happen I am holding a little giveaway to celebrate the launch of the new blog - yeay! I thought about what to actually give away and toyed with the idea of a pattern and some fabric, but I thought that I might pick a pattern you already have, and maybe my choice of fabric wouldn't be your choice. So what to do? How about a £20 gift voucher to spend as you so wish?! And the best bit - you can even choose where the gift voucher is for! And don't worry if you aren't in the UK, you can just pick a shop local to you and I'll get you one to the equivalent value in your currency. You just have to make sure that wherever you choose, there is the option to buy a gift voucher online (that goes for UK folk too).

So fancy having a go at winning? Of course you do! All you have to do is complete the rafflecopter thing-a-me-jigg  below. You just have to answer the first question for a chance to win. But if you would like to have more chances then I would love it if you would follow the other options too - but no pressure and no need to if you don't want to :)

I'll announce the winner next Monday.
Good luck everyone!

  9. I think the idea of the new blog is lovely. I like to see a 'whole' picture of someone's life and how sewing fits into it. I look forward to reading about the new home (when you get it) and how you make it your own.
